Was born in Siberia right around the Soviet Union collapse

Came to the US around 2005 (yay, no more communism)

Had restaurant kitchen jobs for a year (lots of sweat)

Joined the Ohio Army National Guard (yay)

Was deployed to Kosovo

Went to Cleveland State University thanks to the Army GI Bill (military is so cool in the US – not only they don’t force you to join, but they pay for your school if you do)

Moved to Columbus, started Master’s at OSU

Got a job offer, abandoned Master’s at OSU

Worked with a bunch of Microsoft tech

Married

Bought house

Our son was born

More Microsoft tech

Switched tech stack to Ruby and Rails, Elixir
